uMngeni-uThukela Water Training and Development Department with the support of the Operations Division offers a one year Water & Waste Water Treatment Learnership for twenty candidates who have successfully completed their Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science and who are interested in developing the skills required to work in the Water industry.
The responsibilities will amongst others, include intense theoretical and practical training, attending classes, completing a Portfolio of Evidence (POE) and conducting practical work at the water treatment plants in the North East Region, located in Richards Bay and Jozini Water Treatment Plant.

Requirements
- Proof of physical home address: a letter from the Traditional Authority Office for those residing from the villages and note that this will be confirmed with Traditional Authority Office (chancers will be disqualified)
- Certified Matric Mid-Term School report (learners must have completed their Matric within the same district of residence)
- Certified Copy of Valid South African ID document (student)
- Matric certificate with Mathematics and Physics
- Motivation letter from the student

- SA Identity document
- A short motivation as to why the applicant should be selected
- Proof of residence
- Mid Term school report
Minimum Requirements – Applicants must:
- Be unemployed
- Have studied Mathematics and Science at Matric level
- Be youth up to the age of 35
- Must reside in deep rural of areas of uMkhanyakude District and uMzinto District Municipality in KwaZulu Natal
- Applicants living with disabilities are encouraged to apply
